Many people advocate that conventional schooling systems and teachers are becoming outdated, especially when digital learning resources and platforms have become widely available. Because of the wide variety of learning content and tutors on the rapidly spreading internet, and because students do not have to rely completely on schools to develop their skills, curiosity and knowledge, I completely agree with this notion.
ReplyDeleteIn today’s contemporary society students in traditional or nontraditional schools are leaning towards web-based educational tools for their studies with the independence to explore their interests. Platforms, such as YouTube, and Khan Academy provide learners with the best resources without charging; moreover, these resources vary greatly from maths, biology to coding. In my experience as a homeschooled student, since I did not have a teacher, I relied on these platforms to gain knowledge and study a new topic which may be quite challenging, however, I did not notice a big difference from when I was in school with a teacher in front of the class feeding students their lessons. In addition, I had the freedom to choose topics which I had interest in, contrasting greatly when compared to when I was in a conventional educational institution where I had less time and opportunity.
Stating that with the absence of educators, students will not be able to concentrate on their studies and without conventional classrooms they will not be able to practise their social, leadership and cooperation skills, opposers challenge the view. However, if students face problems focusing on their lessons, a study group could be formed with people with the same course material and interests. Moreover, students do not have to depend on schools to develop vital social skills; camps, study groups and many communities provide a space for students to improve their competency.
In conclusion, with the exponential increase in E-learning platforms, communities and educating spaces, conventional schools, and educators will not be the main sources of education, rather they will fade out with less and less students turning to them. They, however, will be able to reach their maximum abilities, whether in scholarly subjects or every-day skills independently.
